Flash Back - English - Chess

 Chess

At a very young age

I learned the game

Of chess

And would play for hours

With friends

First the local version and later

I learned

International chess,

Often defeating

All my friends

Then in the hustle and Bustle of life

Chess got left behind,

During my stay in Budapest

Outside a metro station

A few people were sitting With chessboards

And inviting passersby

To play a game for a Hundred forints

I started playing

With one of the players

And lost two games in a row

Meaning my pocket was Lighter by

200 forints

Upon inquiry, I found out that

This was their livelihood

Often earning

Thousands of forints in a day

Even now, sometimes

I play chess

And remember those days.
