Where Childhood Found Its Voice: A Cultural Evening at Sanjay Camp
A celebration of poetry, folk memory, education and the enduring innocence of childhood

Sanjay Camp in Chanakyapuri, Delhi, became a vibrant space of literary expression, cultural remembrance and youthful enthusiasm as Sanad Foundation, Delhi, organised a cultural programme on August 30, 2026. The gathering brought together poets, literary personalities, children and residents in an evening where poetry and song became a bridge between generations.
The programme, presided over by Dr. Savita Chaddha, was marked by the participation of Dr. Savita Chaddha, Dr. Neeta Rani, Dr. Syed Ali Akhtar Naqvi, Indukant Angiras, Shivnalal Jalali and Misha Sindhu .Through their poems and songs, the participating poets and speakers held the audience in a deeply evocative atmosphere, lending the occasion both literary grace and cultural warmth.
Yet, the most endearing presence of the evening was that of the children of Sanjay Camp. Several young participants came forward to recite children's poems, filling the gathering with the freshness and spontaneity that only a child's voice can bring. Their performances were received with affection and appreciation, and their confident participation gave the programme a distinctive character.
The gathering was not confined merely to literary and cultural expression. Education and the cultivation of reading habits emerged as its central concerns. The speakers laid particular emphasis on the dissemination of education and the importance of books and reading in the lives of children. The message was clear: education is not merely an instrument of learning, but a means through which young minds acquire confidence, awareness and the ability to shape their own future.
Under the chairmanship of Dr. Savita Chaddha, the programme assumed an additional significance when she assured the residents of Sanjay Camp that every possible assistance would be extended towards the educational needs of students living there. Her assurance reflected a commitment towards making education more accessible and meaningful for the children of the community.
Dr. Syed Ali Akhtar Naqvi, President of Hindi-Urdu Adabi Sangam, Delhi, addressed the children with a message of courage and moral conviction. He encouraged them to proceed fearlessly upon the path of truth and to retain the courage to uphold what is right. His words added a note of ethical purpose to an evening otherwise suffused with poetry and song.
Dr. Neeta Rani urged the children to remain optimistic. Her message sought to awaken in them an attitude of hope and a positive outlook towards life—qualities that become particularly significant in shaping the aspirations of young minds.
Speaking from the perspective of personal safety and self-confidence, Martial Arts Coach Misha Sindhu explained to the children the practical importance of learning martial arts for their own protection. Her interaction introduced an important lesson: the cultivation of physical confidence and the ability to protect oneself can form an essential part of a child's overall development.
The literary and musical presentations provided several memorable moments during the programme. The audience responded with particular delight to renowned poet Shivnalal Jalali's rendition of the children's song “Chanda Mama.” The familiar melody and simplicity of the composition brought an unmistakable sense of joy to the gathering.
The most evocative moment, however, came when some of the children recited the much-loved traditional children's song “Machhli Jal Ki Rani Hai.” The familiar words seemed to open a doorway into the past. Elderly members of the audience were carried back to the recollections of their own childhood, and for a moment, the distance between generations appeared to dissolve.
The applause that repeatedly filled the venue after the song was more than an expression of appreciation. It was a recognition of the enduring power of traditional children's songs and folk compositions. Such songs survive not merely because they are remembered, but because they are continuously passed from one generation to another. They become repositories of collective memory, preserving the simplicity, imagination and cultural sensibilities of childhood.
In this sense, “Machhli Jal Ki Rani Hai” emerged as more than a children's song during the evening. It became a reminder of how cultural traditions acquire permanence through memory. A song learned in childhood may remain dormant for decades, only to return through a familiar voice and revive an entire landscape of memories.
The programme therefore acquired a significance extending beyond the immediate occasion. It brought together literature and childhood, tradition and the present, education and cultural consciousness. The participation of children alongside established literary personalities created a graceful continuity between generations, demonstrating that cultural inheritance remains alive when it is shared with the young.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the President of Sanad Foundation .The programme was conducted by Misha Sindhu.

11 मार्च , २०२५ को सनद फाउंडेशन की ओर से स्ट्रीम यार्ड के द्वारा एक शाम लघुकथा के नाम कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। इस प्रतिष्ठित मंच पर देश भर के बेहतरीन लघुकथाकार जुटे। जिनमें बैंगलोर से सुधा भार्गव, अहमदाबाद से डॉ नयना डेलीवाल, अहमदाबाद से पवित्रा अग्रवाल, बिहार से डॉ शिप्रा मिश्रा, लखनऊ से अंजू निगम ने अपनी बेहतरीन लघुकथाएँ प्रस्तुत कीं। प्रमोद जी और पवित्रा अग्रवाल कुछ तकनीकी कारणों से जुड़ न सके। इस मंच के संस्थापक, संचालक और इस कार्यक्रम के सूत्रधार इंदुकान्त आंगिरस ने सभी रचनाकारों का स्वागत किया। सभी की लघुकथाएंँ प्रभावशाली रहीं। इंदुकान्त आंगिरस जी ने अत्यंत संवेदनशील लघुकथाएंँ प्रस्तुत कीं।

मछली जल की रानी है ......
३० अगस्त २०२६ को सनद फाउंडेशन दिल्ली द्वारा संजय कैंप , चाणक्यपुरी ,दिल्ली में एक सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। इस असर पर सर्वश्री डॉ सविता चड्ढा , डॉ नीता रानी , डॉ सैयद अली अख़्तर नक़वी , इन्दुकांत आंगिरस , मिशा सिंधु और शिवनलाल जलाली ने अपनी कविताओं और गीतों से श्रोताओं को भाव - विभोर किया। संजय कैंप के कुछ बाल कलाकारों ने भी अपनी बाल कविताएँ सुना कर सब को मन मोह लिया। सभी वक्ताओं ने विशेषरूप से शिक्षा के प्रचार - प्रसार और पुस्तकों के पठन - पाठन पर ज़ोर दिया। डॉ सविता चड्ढा की अध्यक्षता में संपन्न हुआ यह कार्यक्रम अनेक पहलुओं से बेजोड़ रहा। डॉ सविता चड्ढा ने संजय कैंप के निवासियों को विश्वास दिलाया कि संजय कैंप में रहने वाले विद्यार्थियों के शिक्षा सम्बन्धी यथासंभव मदद प्रदान की जाएगी। हिंदी - उर्दू अदबी संगम , दिल्ली के अध्यक्ष डॉ सैयद अली अख़्तर नक़वी ने बच्चों को निडरता से सच्चाई के पथ पर आगे बढ़ते रहने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया। डॉ नीता रानी ने बच्चों को आशावादी बनने के लिए प्रेरित किया। मार्शियल आर्ट्स के कोच मिशा सिंधु ने बच्चों को समझाया कि अपनी सुरक्षा के लिए मार्शियल आर्ट्स सीखना कितना उपयोगी हो सकता है।
प्रसिद्ध कवि श्री शिवनलाल जलाली का " चन्दा मामा " बाल गीत सुन कर सभी श्रोता ख़ुशी से झूम उठें। जब कुछ बच्चों ने सैकड़ों साल पुराना बाल गीत " मछली जल की रानी है " सुनाया तो सभागार में बैठे बड़े - बुजुर्ग अपने बचपन की यादों में खो गए। इस गीत पर सभागार में बार बार बजती तालियों ने ये साबित कर दिया कि पारम्परिक बाल गीत , लोक गीत हमारी संस्कृति की ऐसी धरोहर हैं जो सदियों तक न सिर्फ भारत में अपितु सम्पूर्ण विश्व में अपनी अलग पहचान बना देती हैं।
अंत में सनद फाउंडेशन के अध्यक्ष ने सभी कवियों , बाल कलाकारों और दर्शकों का धन्यवाद ज्ञापन किया। बाल शिक्षा पर अपनी चिंता व्यक्त करते हुए यक़ीन दिलाया कि सनद फाउंडेशन शिक्षा के प्रचार - प्रसार से सम्बंधित निकट भविष्य में अधिक रोचक और संगठित कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करती रहेगी। कार्यक्रम का संचालन मिशा सिंधु ने किया।
