Hungarian Folktale day

 Hungarian Folk Tale Day

Folktales had always been magical . These tales  have travelled over centuries and have not lost their charm till now. Even today grandpas and grandmoms tell the folk tales to their grandchildren . Just like the timeless Indian folk tales from Jataka and Panchtantra , Hungarian folk tales depict magic , laughter and wisdom .

Recently Hungarian Folk Tale Day was celebrated in New Delhi . It is celebrated on 30th September every year all over the world to commemorate the birthday of legendary  Hungarian writer   Elek Bendek ( 1859 - 1929 ) . was a renowned Hungarian story teller  who travelled all over the country and abroad to collect Hungarian Folk TElen Benedek ales . Hungarian people call him Grandpa Elek. Few Hungarian folk tales were performed at Triveni Kala Sangam , Mandi House by the  child artists  of MIMA , an NGO , under the imprint of MANCH . Dr . Mariann  Erdő , the director of Hungarian cultural Centre curated this wonderful theatrical show . The theatre show was directed by Vikram Singh and presented by Liszt Institute of Hungary.  Though the majority of the audience were adolescents, there were grandpapas  and grandmoms too .
