Τι κάνατε σήμερα; vs Τι κάνετε σήμερα;

These two Greek questions look almost the same, but they can mean something quite different!
Τι κάνατε σήμερα;
Ti kánate símera?
What did you do today?
Here, κάνατε is in the past. You’re asking about something that has already happened.
Τι κάνετε σήμερα;
Ti kánete símera?
How are you today? / How are you doing today?
Here, κάνετε is in the present. In this context, it’s asking about someone’s current state or how they’re doing.
